Supporting Early Language Development - new CPD programme starting from January 2023
This event will take place between 1:30pm and 4:00pm on 12/01/2023
New Vision English Hub is delighted to offer a new CPD programme from January 2023, focused on Supporting Early Language Development. This programme was developed by a group of English Hubs with support from Speech and Language UK.
During the course, participants will engage deeply with early language pedagogy, securing their understanding of the stages of ‘typical’ language development and concentrating on the expected milestones that occur during primary years (ages 4 to 11). Practical classroom skills and techniques for quality first teaching in YR and KS1 will be shared, including ways to identify and support those children who may not be developing language skills as expected.
Participants will attend five in person sessions at Elmhurst Primary (1.30 - 4.00pm), Newham, and complete gap tasks in between sessions. The training dates are listed below:
- 12th January 2023
- 10th February 2023
- 9th March 2023
- 5th May 2023
- 8th June 2023
- 30th November 2023
Given the focus of the training on classroom strategies for YR and KS1, we are looking to recruit schools on this training with YR/ KS1 provision as they will benefit most from the programme.
