Essex Year of Reading - Developing Reading Comprehension Programme (various cohort dates, starting in June 2022

 

Venue: Lyons Hall Primary School, Braintree (CM7 9FH)

Course dates:

• Group 1: 14^th June, 11^th Oct, 22^nd Nov, 22nd Feb (2023)
• Group 2: 21^st June, 19^th Oct, 29^th Nov, 1^st March (2023)
• Group 3: 20^th Sept, 8^th Nov, 24^th Jan (2023), 21^st March (2023)
• Group 4: 4^th Oct, 15^th Nov, 25^th Jan (2023), 22^nd March (2023)
• Group 5: 17^th Jan, 14^th March, 16^th May, 4^th July (all dates 2023)
• Group 6: 18^th Jan, 15^th March, 17^th May, 5^th July (all dates 2023)

Details of the programme:

• 4 whole-day training sessions (1 per half term) from 9:00am to 4:00pm
• Gap tasks between days 1/2, days 2/3 and 3/4 and opportunities for delegates to share progress with these
• Opportunities to observe teaching of reading comprehension with pupils
• Opportunity for action planning
• Collaborative learning
• Flexible content to meet the requirements of the group
• Online learning platform – Hive Learning

Cost: £60 per teacher (Essex is funding the remainder). Ideally two teachers will attend from each school – the Literacy Co-ordinator and an upper KS2 teacher or Year 2 teacher.
