About the session:
Objectives
• To understand the key pedagogical approaches underpinning teaching in the 2020s
• To understand what ‘great’ teaching looks like in the mastery classroom
This brand new one day course focuses on the second of Ofsted’s three ‘I’s: Implementation. Taking the ‘Elements of Great Teaching’ developed by Rob Coe as a starting point, this day will explore every element of effective teaching and give a series of practical action points that can be developed in the classroom. We will also discuss a range of current educational theories which will increasingly impact on teaching in the 2020s, including cognitive load theory, metacognition, co-operative learning and retrieval practice. This is a trailblazing course which will impact upon practice in your school for years to come.
