BMAT Education ITT
Supporting primary and secondary schools across Essex and East London, BMAT is a growing multi-academy trust with a singular vision: schools, teachers and pupils freed to succeed.
The role of BMAT Teaching School in Initial Teacher Education includes delivering high quality, school-based ITT in both primary and secondary schools across Essex and East London. BMAT Education partners with the University of East London (UEL) to offer both Salaried and Non Salaried School Direct places and Teaching Apprenticeships. We also partner with TesInstitute to offer Straight to Teach and Assessment Only routes to offer flexible routes into teaching.
School Direct and Teaching Apprenticeship places are school based with elements of blended learning with the University. School Direct courses run over one academic year and the apprenticeship programme runs over a 14-month period. Potential applicants should apply via UCAS (BMAT Provider code: 2GY). Application rounds open from October and August for a September start.
Straight to Teaching and Assessment Only places with Tes Institute are offered to those already working within an education role; these in-school and online learning routes are suitable for those with previous teaching experience. Potential applicants should register interest directly with BMAT Teaching School.
Initial Teacher Trainees on our programmes are supported by in school mentors, BMAT professional mentors and UEL/ TES tutors. BMAT ITTs are provided with regular opportunities to network and upskill throughout the course of our ITE programmes.
BMAT Teaching School hosts a series of open school taster sessions, virtual information events and coffee mornings and afternoons to recruit candidates into teaching – contact the team directly for dates of upcoming events at teachingschool@bmat-trust.org.uk.
