National Institute of Teaching Evidence Portal

The National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) Evidence Portal brings together rigorous high-quality research and expert perspectives from schools and trusts, offering a comprehensive resource for teachers and leaders involved in the training and development of others. Its purpose is to empower teacher educators to be able to make evidence-informed decisions when designing and delivering professional learning and support.

Research on CPD – opportunities to take part

  • DfE research on CPD: the DfE is inviting teachers and leaders to take part in research to help shape and improve CPD delivery. Please see here for details of two opportunities to get involved: DfE research on CPD
  • National Institute of Teaching (NIoT): as part of their research role, NIoT is conducting some research about school-level professional development, and they are keen to get as many PD leads as possible to share their views. To contribute to this research, see: NIoT research - Exploring school-level professional development in schools across England.
