New teacher training programme from the Dunmow Excellence in Education Partnership

With recruitment into teacher training at the top of the priority list for schools and settings in our region, a local consortium of schools in the Dunmow area has taken innovative steps to tackle this crisis by developing a new teacher training programme.

Run by the Dunmow Excellence in Education Partnership (DEEP), the programme will offer those who live and work in the area start or redirect their careers into primary teaching.

The Primary Initial Teacher Training programme launches in September 2025 and will run at schools in Dunmow, Great Easton, Felsted, Stebbing, Thaxted, Great Bardfield and the Rodings.

The DEEP consortium of leaders recognises the wealth of talent and expertise within their local communities and are committed to providing high quality training and development across their network of schools.

The Dunmow Excellence in Education Partnership (DEEP) is a diverse group of schools that strongly believe in the power of collaboration to improve the outcomes and life chances for all children.

Located across southern Uttlesford, ten schools work closely together to provide the best education possible with each school maintaining their own character, vision and ethos.

It makes for a very exciting place to work!

We believe in investing in the people employed throughout our schools so we are excited that we are able to take the next step and offer Initial Teacher Training opportunities within our local area. We love to grow our own talent, so trainees will experience dynamic and welcoming school settings, supported by experienced and passionate staff.
