DEEP Initial Teacher Training – Programme Launch
On Wednesday 27 November, the Dunmow Excellence in Education Partnership (DEEP) launched its new Initial Teacher Training programme – a dynamic and innovative pathway into primary teaching.
This programme offers an opportunity to train and work locally while receiving exceptional support and mentorship across the ten schools in the DEEP network.
The launch event, held at Great Dunmow Primary School, provided aspiring teachers with a chance to:
-
Chat with DEEP leaders about the unique experience of training and working in their schools
-
Gain exclusive insights into what the teacher training journey entails
-
Ask questions about eligibility, funding, and career progression
-
Explore the school, visiting classrooms and vibrant learning spaces
Headteachers and leaders from across the DEEP schools, alongside Susan Marbe, Director of West Essex SCITT, were on hand to offer guidance and inspiration. Attendees also had the chance to meet like-minded future teachers, share their passion for education, and sign up with DEEP schools for hands-on experience.
Following the event, many attendees were so inspired that they have already submitted applications to join the DEEP programme and start their teaching journey in September 2025.
