Welcome to our new NPQ Leadership Cohort

Hot on the heels of our Specialist launch, we were once again at Harlow Study Centre this week to welcome colleagues from across the region as they embark on the next steps of their leadership journey.

Over 50 current and aspiring Senior Leaders and Headteachers joined the launch event for our new NPQ Leadership cohort on Tuesday 26 March, kick-starting the session by sharing their motivations for starting their NPQ.

Following an orientation to the structure and content of the programme, participants were encouraged to reflect on their feelings about embarking on this journey. The room buzzed with excitement and anticipation, a sentiment validated by our poll results.

Participants had the chance to meet their expert facilitators, who will be their guides throughout the course, and to connect with colleagues they will collaborate closely with over the next 18 months. This networking is crucial in fostering the wider connections of expertise fundamental to the TeachFirst approach.

We've been heartened by the number of teachers and leaders from our previous NPQ cohorts who have shared case studies demonstrating how they have applied their NPQ learning to support their roles and colleagues in their schools. Furthermore, many have secured new leadership positions since completing their NPQ. It is equally inspiring to witness former NPQ graduates returning to further hone their skills or to facilitate NPQ sessions themselves. This speaks volumes about the profound impact of these programmes.

We wish this new cohort of leaders well and are looking forward to working with them!

Join our team of NPQ facilitators

Our introduction session shares details about the programme but also serves as a platform for bringing together programme members with their facilitation team. We are incredibly fortunate to have a dedicated, experienced, and motivated team of facilitators. They not only support colleagues throughout every stage of their NPQ journey but also contribute rich contextual experience and provide real-life anecdotes, which enrich the learning experience and bring the material to life.

Our thanks to our NPQ Leadership facilitators Emma Vincent, Duncan Roberts, Carmine de Grande, Rebecca Sigston and Stacey McCraith for being such excellent ambassadors for Saffron Teaching School Hub and TeachFirst.

If you are interested in becoming an NPQ facilitator, you can find out more about the role and how to apply here.
