Support for applicants

A good place to start for general information on becoming a teacher is the DfE Get into Teaching website, which includes a step-by-step guide to the process, from thinking about training to teach through to application.

The DfE also offers a useful tailored advice service which provides you with personalised advice from a team of telephone agents who can talk you through training options, the application process and your next steps. You can register for this here.

The DfE has produced a digital brochure for undergraduates, with information on funding, benefits, the process of how to become a teacher and more. View the brochure here: DfE Digital Brochure 2024-25

Saffron, Chafford Hundred and Unity Teaching School Hubs and the Greater Essex Careers Hub, have produced a Get into Teaching guide for 14-to-16 year olds, showcasing the rewards and benefits of the teaching profession and mapping out the range of routes young people can follow on their pathway into teaching. View the brochure as a flipbook here or download it here.
