Greater Essex Music Hub - Curriculum Conference 2026

It was a fantastic day at the Greater Essex Music Hub Curriculum Conference at Hylands House on Thursday 9 July, attended by music educators from a wide range of schools across Essex, Southend and Thurrock. Delegates explored a wide range of workshops covering everything from storytelling through music and play-based learning in the early years to songwriting, GCSE composition, music technology and creative cross-curricular projects.

The conference also placed a strong emphasis on inclusion, with sessions focused on inclusive instruments, practical approaches to supporting learners with SEND, and the Hub’s wider inclusion strategy. Alongside workshops on singing, performance and careers in the creative industries, attendees left with fresh ideas, practical resources and renewed confidence to deliver engaging, high-quality music education for all children and young people.
