Early Career Training Programme - Autumn Term update

As the new academic year gets underway, our Early Career Teacher and Mentor training sessions have set a positive and purposeful tone across the region. With a blend of in-person and online events, participants have praised the sessions for being well-organised, relevant, and inspiring.

The Early Career Training Programme is a vital foundation for those entering the profession, offering structured support, practical strategies, and a space to reflect and grow. These sessions are designed to help new teachers build confidence, deepen their understanding of pedagogy, and develop effective classroom practice from the outset. By engaging fully in the training, ECTs not only enhance their own teaching but also contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. For mentors, the training provides clarity on their role and equips them to guide and empower their ECTs effectively. Together, this shared journey strengthens the teaching community and ensures every learner benefits from high-quality education.

From exploring development cycles to deepening understanding of inclusive practice, both ECTs and mentors have shared thoughtful reflections and practical takeaways. The energy and engagement across sessions have been fantastic, with many attendees highlighting the value of networking, expert facilitation, and actionable strategies to bring back to the classroom.

Here’s what some of our participants had to say:

“Perfect teaching week visualisation and key phrases for classroom management.”

“The scenarios for the Development Cycle stages of Refocus, Deconstruction and Feedback were very helpful.”

“One of the best sessions. Thank you“.

We’re pleased to see such a strong start and look forward to building on this momentum throughout the year. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making these sessions impactful and enriching.
