CTSN SCITT hosts regular events where you can find out how to train to be a teacher. Recognising that people have different availability, we try to host these events on different days of the week and at different times of the day.

Get into Teaching Event - 24 February 2026

Are you interested in applying for a place on a Primary or Secondary Initial Teacher Training Programme?

Come to our Get into Teaching event taking place on Tuesday 24 February (drop in between 5pm-7pm) at The White Bridge Primary School, Loughton, IG10 3DR. Come and meet our team and representatives from our schools and find out about the rewards that a career in teaching can bring.

Department for Education 'Get into Teaching' events

On the DfE's 'Get into Teaching' events page you can find listings of two types of free events:

  • DfE Get Into Teaching events where you can talk to expert advisers, a range of local training providers and experienced teachers
  • Training provider events where specific teacher training providers will talk about the courses they offer

Train to Teach in Essex

On Monday 2 December 2024, the three Essex Teaching School Hubs (Chafford Hundred South Essex, Saffron and Unity) and Essex County Council hosted a 'Train to Teach in Essex' information event at Beaulieu Park School in Chelmsford, along with representatives from the DfE and local ITT providers.
