Who are we?

Several training venues are offered, including Northstowe Primary and Howard Community Academy in Cambridgeshire, Newlands Spring Primary & Nursery School in Chelmsford, Bottisham Village College in Bottisham and Sybil Andrews Academy in Bury St Edmunds.

Graduate Employment-Based Early Years Initial Teacher Training (EYITT)
Information for potential trainees
For more information and an application form, email info@ctsnscitt.org.
Information for settings
The EYITT route enables you to upskill an existing graduate member of staff while they remain employed in your setting. Over one academic year, they will train towards achieving Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS), the only specialist qualification for teaching children from birth to five. Tuition fees are fully funded for this route and a £7,000 employer incentive will be paid directly to your setting.
Expand this heading to find out more about the Graduate Employment-Based EYITT route
The Graduate Employment-Based EYITT route provides:
A training grant to fully cover all programme and assessment costs, your employee pays nothing and you pay nothing.
A £7,000 employer incentive paid directly to your setting to help with staffing pressures, such as:
-
- Supply cover
- Salary enhancements
- Employment costs
- National Insurance
- Training-related expenses
This makes the programme financially accessible and operationally manageable for busy early years settings.
Transform your workforce
By supporting a member of your team through this programme, you can:
- Upskill talented staff into the role of Early Years Teacher
- Strengthen the quality of teaching and learning across your provision
- Enhance ratios(EYTS holders can lead learning with a 1:13 ratio for children aged 3+)
- Build internal capacity and reduce recruitment challenges
- Invest in long-term retention, professional development, and staff morale
Many trainees report that the knowledge, depth, and passion they gain throughout the training significantly improves their confidence and practice.
Who Is eligible?
This route is ideal for:
- A graduate already employed in your setting
- Someone with passion, potential, and a desire to progress
- Practitioners who would thrive under structured training and expert mentoring
- The trainee must hold a relevant degree and meet GCSE entry requirements (English, Maths, and Science)
One-Year, Flexible Training
Training is delivered over an academic year, with a blend of centre-based learning, in-setting practice, and additional placement experience. The structure is designed to work alongside ongoing employment so that your setting continues to benefit from your trainee’s contributions.
