Advance Teacher Training with Ambition Institute

A great teacher changes the future every day. Especially for children who have had a tough start in life, a teacher can be the critical factor in their success. Our Teacher Training sets trainees on the path to becoming an excellent teacher, one who will inspire the next generation to succeed.

As a founding partner with Ambition Institute ITT, Advance Teacher Training have contributed our expertise and experience so that trainee teachers can have an impact from the first moment they step inside their new classroom.

We really value the deep research and educational theory that underpins Ambition Institute’s programmes and this, coupled with our years of experience successfully delivering initial teacher training, will make for a strong partnership that will benefit all.

Train in one school

Trainees will do most of their training in one school, giving them immediate opportunities to practise the theory they’ve learnt in a classroom. Our one-school training approach also gives them the opportunity to build relationships with teachers, staff, and the wider school community.

  • Trainees will have one main school placement across the year. They will be placed with a school from September through to July (after week 1 of induction).

  • Trainees' second placement will consist of 2 weeks in the summer term.

  • Trainees will have specialist placement days during the Autumn and Spring Terms when they will visit other schools and specialist provisions. These days will be flexible, and not in a block.

  • Trainees will remain in their host school for the 4 weeks of ITAP (intensive training and practice). An area of focus will be in place, which will consist of some further focused development such as work with a specialist teacher or subject, and recording of a lesson and deconstructing practice.
