Saffron Appropriate Body

Saffron Appropriate Body is responsible for ensuring that all ECTs receive their statutory induction entitlement and quality assuring the induction and assessment provided by schools to ECTs. What does this look like in practice?
Quality Assurance visits
We visit at least a third of our schools each academic year. Already this academic year we have completed Quality Assurance (QA) visits to over a quarter of our schools.
On these visits we talk to ECTs, Mentors and Induction Tutors about the school’s induction offer to ensure ECTs are receiving their statutory entitlements, and we hear about the fantastic support within schools.

Registering ECTs with Saffron Appropriate Body
An ECT cannot begin induction if they are not registered with an Appropriate Body.
For more information on how to register an ECT with Saffron Appropriate Body, see here.
Appropriate Body and Early Career Programme
ECTs have to be both registered with an Appropriate Body and enrolled on an Early Career Programme.
What’s the difference and what does it mean for schools?
